Ellew and Environmental Sustainability

Ellew is currently a one person, fully remote MedTech recruitment partner, so environmental sustainability is built into how I work every day. My commitment is to keep the business footprint as small as possible by making intentional choices around travel, digital tools, and suppliers.

Ellew operates without a physical office, eliminating commuting and building emissions. Core processes are digital by default, contracts, CVs, and briefings are managed in the cloud to minimise paper and waste. When not working from my home office, I use co-working spaces or, in warmer months, work from my campervan near the school run to avoid extra journeys.

Travel is essential for relationships but is never automatic. I prioritise trains for UK events and combine meetings in London to reduce trips. International travel, like RSNA in Chicago, is planned as a single, high impact trip to maximise value. Between events, video calls are the standard.

As Ellew grows, employees will also work remotely. I will formalise these habits into guidelines on low carbon travel and responsible supplier choices, ensuring sustainability remains central to our culture.
